Dreamworld Gold Coast is a large and exciting amusement park with lots of attractions and rides for all the family.
For younger kids there is Wiggles World where your children can meet all the Wiggles characters, take a ride in the Big Red Car, play on the SS Feathersword and learn as they play in the Fun Spot.
Also for the younger kids is Nick Central which has lots of rides and attractions all based on Nickelodeon characters such as the SpongeBob FlyPants ride, Dora the Explorer Sea Planes, Blues Skidoo Flying Machine and the SpongeBob SquarePants Live Show. Many of the Nickelodeon characters can be seen walking around in this area and I’m sure your kids would love to have their photo taken with their favourites.
Rides for all the family include the Thunder River Rapids Ride, the Rocky Hollow Log Ride, Reef Diver, Stingray and the big thrill Vortex. If these are too much for you then take a relaxing ride on the River Boat, the Steam Train or one of the Vintage Cars.
And for the real adrenalin junkies there are the Big 6 Thrill Rides which include the Tower of Terror, the Wipeout, the Giant Drop and the Cyclone. Their names speak for themselves and I’m sure you can imagine how terrifying they are.
Screamworld lets you experience all the excitement of the Big Thrill Rides after dark. This option is only available occasionally so be sure to check out the dates on the Dreamworld Gold Coast website so as not to miss out on the opportunity.
Apart from rides and activities for the younger children there are many other Dreamworld Gold Coast attractions.
FlowRider is the ultimate new boardsport which looks awesome. You use quite a short board and go against the force of a water flow. It involves a 30 minute boarding session for beginners or intermediates with up to 15 other people and the water is heated in winter so it is a year round activity. There are demonstrations from pros at various times throughout the day which are impressive to say the least.
NightRider lets you experience the FlowRider after dark on Friday and Saturday nights and sessions are one hour long.
This area has its own shop, cafe and bar and is open daily from 10am till 4.30pm. It can be very busy so it is a good idea to book it in advance.
There is an IMAX Theatre in Dreamworld Gold Coast which screens various movies at different times. To check what is on when you are there go the Imax Theatre.
For animal lovers Dreamworld has Tiger Island and the Australian Wildlife Experience.
Tiger Island which is home to Gold and White Bengal and Sumatran Tigers allows you to get up close and personal with some of the tigers. You can have your photo taken with them, take a walk with them and be sure not to miss the Tiger Presentations where you will learn all about them and see them play with their trainers. Dreamworld run a successful breeding program of the tigers and have cubs which were born in the park.
The Australian Wildlife Experience has more than 800 native animals such as koalas, kangaroos, wombats and crocodiles to mention just a few. It is divided into different areas such as outback, rainforest and wetlands and you will find the animals native to each of these areas in their own section. You can cuddle a koala and have your photo taken with it, feed the kangaroos and even shear a sheep if you fancy.
