Surfers Paradise PubsThere is an abundance of Surfers Paradise pubs and clubs unlike the smaller resorts on the Gold Coast. Cavill Avenue is one of the main areas to find these Surfers Paradise pubs. O'Malley's is one of the many Irish pubs in Surfers Paradise and is on the corner of Cavill Avenue and the Esplanade with balconies overlooking both streets, live entertainment most nights and a list of international beers. Across from there is Kitty O'Shea's pub which has live music from Thursdays to Sundays and further along the street you will find the upstairs Beer Garden which is a huge place with lots of pool tables and a balcony overlooking Cavill Avenue. At the top of the street on the corner of Surfers Paradise Blvd is the Hard Rock Cafe with a huge guitar on its roof. This is in the same style as Hard Rock Cafes the world over and they have live music on Friday nights. On Surfers Paradise Blvd you can find Waxy's Irish Pub which is large place with some large screens for watching sport and the Clock Hotel which is quite a traditional Aussie style hotel pub with a bistro and is a lively spot at night. Just off Surfers Paradise Blvd in the Chevron Renaissance centre is yet another Irish Pub called the Lansdowne Road which is a bit sterile for an Irish pub but it shows English football at the weekends. Across Surfers Paradise Blvd on Cavill Avenue is Fiddlers Green Irish Pub which has some bar stools outside and plenty of seating inside. Orchid Avenue is the other place to find lots of Surfers Paradise pubs. On the corner of Cavill Avenue is the large The Avenue pub which has live music on most nights and is one of the busier places in the midweek. They do food which is cheaper if you eat early. Shooters Pub, upstairs in the Mark Complex, has a western saloon bar theme and a separate room with pool tables and has live entertainment most nights. The Surfers Paradise SLSC on The Esplanade is a large place which serves good cheap food and cheap beer and has a roomful of Pokies if that is what you are after. Also on The Esplanade is Billy's Beach House Hotel which has lots of live entertainment and is open till late. Night Clubs in Surfers ParadiseThere are lots of clubs in Surfers mainly on Orchid Avenue and Cavill Avenue.Elsewhere is at level 3/23 Cavill Avenue and is open from 10pm-5am on Fri- Sun. The Drink NightClub is at 4 Orchid Avenue and is open from 9pm till 5am every night. It is on 2 levels with one overlooking the dance floor, the music is R&B and dance and there are 3 bars. The Bedroom Lounge Bar and Nightclub at 26 Orchid Avenue is open from 8pm till 5am every night. It has beds for reclining and plasma screens on the dance floor. Melbas on the Park at 46 Cavill Avenue is open every night till late and is a huge place with a bar and restaurant downstairs and the nightclub upstairs. The Shack Nightclub at 22 Orchid Avenue is open 7 days from 8pm-5am and has live bands on Thursdays. The Meeting Place Bar and Club at 26 Orchid Avenue is open from 9pm till 5am from Tuesdays till Sundays. It is a gay friendly place that plays house music.
