Its location is perfect for anyone who is looking to spend time at any of the South Bank Cultural Precinct buildings such as QPAC or the Queensland Museum or Art Gallery and is only a short walk from the man made City Beach which is a great place to relax and have a swim. It is very near the South Bank train station which makes getting to and from the airport very easy and to the CityCat which provides transport up and down the Brisbane River. The South Bank cinema is also just along the road from the hotel as are a wide range of restaurants and cafes. The hotel itself has 304 spacious guest rooms which are well equipped with microwave, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and an iron and ironing board. The superior rooms and above all have balconies with views across the river to the CBD which are just amazing at night. There is no wireless access in guest rooms at the time of writing but there is high speed broadband access. The in-house Parklands Bar and Grill is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet breakfast is excellent and has a huge range of options, the dinner seafood buffet is also wonderful and they have an a la carte menu if you don't fancy fish. Alternatively try the CBD Cafe Bar which also does good food and has a great atmosphere. Their wood fired pizzas come highly recommended. There is a gym if you feel the need to exercise and a spa and sauna for relaxing in but no pool but with City Beach nearby that shouldn't be a major problem. The staff in Rydges South Bank are extremely friendly and helpful and will do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable all with an ever present smile on their faces. The rooftop function room has two outdoors terraces and amazing views over the river and CBD and is a great place to hold any event you are organising from a wedding to a cocktail party.
