Maroochydore Accommodation

There is a good range of Maroochydore accommodation with something to suit all budgets.  On this page you will find our recommendations from caravan parks and backpackers to luxury apartments and motels.

Maroochydore Caravan Parks

There are two good council run caravan parks in Maroochydore and Cotton Tree. For me the better one of the two is the Cotton Tree Caravan Park on Cotton Tree Parade but possibly in the summer it could be too busy as it really is huge. It is in a perfect location right on both the sea and river beach in a quiet residential area and you can walk straight on to the beach from the park. There are plenty of amenities block, lots of powered caravan sites, quite a few cabins and less unpowered tent sites. The tent sites are actually in the best location right at the mouth of the river. As soon as you get out of your tent in the morning the first thing you see is the beach and the sea - what more could you ask for. Unfortunately it doesn't have a camp kitchen but there is a covered BBQ area with tables.

The other is the Maroochy Beach Sea Breeze Caravan Park on Melrose Parade. It has lots of powered sites and some cabins but is not a great option for tents.  For more information on both of these parks you can visit the Maroochy Beach Caravan Parks website.

There are also two other caravan parks on the river on Bradman Avenue which are a bit out of town. The Maroochy Palms Holiday Village is a member of the Big4 group and you can make a reservation on (07)5433 8611. The other is the Maroochy River Cabin Village and Caravan Park. As its name suggests it has a large number of cabins which range in size and price and it also has powered sites for caravans and tents. It has a salt water pool and a BBQ area which is nice and shady.

Maroochydore Backpackers

There are three backpackers options in Maroochydore and Cotton Tree. My favourite is the Cotton Tree Backpackers which is in an amazing old Queenslander timber building at 15 The Esplanade in Cotton Tree. There is a small garden at the front with some wooden tables and a small bar and it is just across the road from the beach. They have all the usual facilities and offer free surf and body boards, bikes, kayaks and pick up from the Sunshine Coast Airport and from buses.

The Maroochydore YHA Sunshine Coast Backpackers is at 24 Schirrman Drive in Maroochydore which is about 1km from the beach but near the river. They also offer free kayaks, boogie boards and bikes along with free breakfast, tea and coffee, free courtesy buses to the beach, Underwater World, Eumundi Markets and Australia Zoo. It is set in lovely gardens and has a pool.

The final option is the Suncoast Backpackers Lodge on Aerodrome Road and you can contact them on (07) 5443 7544.

Maroochydore Holiday Apartments

If you are looking for luxury my suggestion is the Sebel Maroochydore which is located at the Alexandra Headlands end of Maroochydore. The apartments have wonderful living rooms and terraces with ocean views. There is a pool, spa, steam room and many other facilities in the complex.

The 3 star Sundeck Gardens Holiday Apartments are also located near the beach. This is a smaller and less luxurious complex with only 20 apartments which are all well equipped. There is a pool, BBQ area and internet access.

If you are looking for a motel you could try the Heritage Motor Inn which is on Sixth Avenue just one street back from the beach. It has a pool, wireless internet access and tea and coffee making facilities. Another option is the Beach Motor Inn (07) 5443 7044 which is also on Sixth Avenue.
