It is very near Roma Street Transit Centre which is ideal if you are arriving in Brisbane by bus or train. It is also close to Queen Street Mall which is the main shopping area and South Bank is only about a 10 or 15 minute walk away. There are 218 rooms in the Brisbane Ibis Hotel most of which are spacious and bright with large, clean, functional bathrooms. All of the rooms have a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, and an iron and ironing board but many have no view to speak of although the top floor rooms have wonderful views. The ibistro restaurant in the hotel opens for breakfast and dinner. At breakfast they offer an excellent buffet and in the evening an a la carte menu. They also have a limited room service menu but you have to collect it yourself from the reception. The bar has 24 hour service and they offer hot snacks. You can also use the restaurant and bar in the 4 star Mercure Hotel which is nearby. Facilities in the hotel include high speed wifi internet access and a self-service laundry which is very useful if you are travelling for a while. The hotel was refurbished in September 2008 and has a very unpretentious atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and polite and will help you with any problems you have.
