It is only a 10 minute walk to Queen Street Mall but beware as it is all uphill on the way back to the hotel. It is ideally located if you are going to Suncorp Stadium for a sporting or music event and is close to the Normanby Hotel which is where many of the famous local sports stars hang out. If you are heading on to either the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast by car from Brisbane then the Brisbane Grand Chancellor Hotel Brisbane is a good choice as you can easily access these roads from the hotel. There are a range of rooms and suites in the hotel all of which have tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, a fridge and an iron and ironing board. The superior rooms are all on the top two floors and have added features such as complimentary fruit and water, an ipod docking station and bathrobes. The suites have a small kitchen, a living area and two balconies with great views of the city or the Parklands. Fresco's Restaurant in the hotel is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves modern Australian cuisine. At breakfast and lunch the food is buffet style and then in the evenings it is an a la carte dinner service. The breakfast buffet is very good but the dinner service doesn't get rave reviews. If you prefer to have just a snack then you could try the Fresco's Bar and Cafe which is open all day and has a lovely outdoor seating area. Away from the hotel I would recommend walking 10 or 15 minutes to either Caxton Street or the city centre where you will find a huge range of very good eateries. There is a small gym for the energetic guests and a pool on the roof which is a great place to relax and unwind.
