Binna Burra- Accommodation in Lamington National ParkBinna Burra is one of the two main and accessible sections of Lamington National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland. Here we make some suggestions on where you may stay if you are going to be in the park overnight. The Camp Site is a private site run by the Binna Burra Lodge . It is small and quite basic with some of the pitches being a bit like a car park but others are much nicer and very at one with nature with lots of trees and shade. Most don't have car access but none of them are far from the car park. It has a reasonable toilet block with good showers with plenty of hot water and there is also a laundry with washing machines and dryers. There is a sheltered cooking area with 2 picnic tables, 2 gas rings and a gas BBQ which you have to pay for. There are also quite a few safari tents for 2 to 6 people that you really need to book in advance especially at weekends. They are near the tent area but have two covered cooking areas of their own. You pay for the camping at Binna Burra Lodge and the price is a lot more than the normal national park camping because it is a private site. Binna Burra Lodge is a wonderful place to experience the tranquility of Lamington National Park whether you are planning on some serious bushwalking or just want to relax and enjoy the mountain air. The accommodation is in rustic style cabins some of which date from the 1930s. It has lovely reception areas where you can relax and read the newspaper or some magazines while enjoying the free morning and afternoon tea and coffee. None of the cabins have TVs but there is a communal TV lounge which has a relaxing atmosphere and a selection of DVDs. The Clifftop Dining Room opens for breakfast and dinner and is famous for the generous helpings that they serve. It has large windows providing a beautiful view of the Coomera Valley and a small balcony where you can sit and enjoy an early evening drink and the beautiful sunsets. The Lodge offers a good range of activities including guided walks, abseiling and flying fox rides. O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat is in the Green Mountains Section of Lamington National Park. It is a wonderfully, luxurious guesthouse with a variety of rooms some of them with the most amazing views which you can enjoy while soaking in the spa bath in your bathroom. Prices include morning and afternoon tea. The Retreat Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and the Rainforest Bar is the perfect place to enjoy an evening drink. They also offer a good program of activities which are included in the price of your room and these include guided bush walks and bus trips. If you prefer to stay outside the National Park and drive in then the Canungra Motel in Canungra is a good, cheap option. For information about walks in the park see our Lamington National Park page.
